Jesse Hunter Jr

July 12, 1945 — August 19, 2016

Jesse Thomas Hunter, Jr. was born July 12, 1945 to Jesse Thomas Hunter, Sr. and Elizabeth Geraldine Jackson Hunter in Princeton, West Virginia. A child of God, devoted brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Jesse truly believed in family. He expressed his love for his family through teaching life skills such as gardening, boating, fishing, nature survival, mechanics, dry walling and masonry. He was a master mechanic, who had the ability to diagram and explain the inner workings of engines and other machinery, in the simplest manner, so even a layman could understand. Jesse worked as a truck driver for over thirty years at Magnum Products Drywall Company and Auto Mechanics. He had a variety of hobbies and interests. The most notable were riding motorcycles, Citizens Band radio (his CB handle was “Snake Doctor”), fishing, camping and enjoying nature. Jesse enjoyed a variety of music, singing, and dancing. He also had a great passion for cooking; he loved to experiment with cooking all types of cuisine, not to mention his love of smoked barbecue. Jesse was a resilient man who was able to overcome many adversities and challenges in his life. He was an inspirational storyteller and was always willing to share lessons learned with loved ones and friends. He was an excellent problem solver and a man of action, with the ability to evaluate any given situation and propose successful plans that brought about resolution. Jesse T. Hunter, Jr. positively impacted the lives of those around him and he will be sorely missed. On August 19, 2016, at the age of 71, Jesse T. Hunter, Jr. was called from labor to reward while in the care of the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. His parents preceded him in death. Those who remain to cherish memories of Jesse include his beloved wife of 49 years, Roberta Lee Austin Hunter; daughter Betty A. Hunter; sons, Jesse T. Hunter, III (Tracy R.) and Thomas J.
