Jessie Lee Bryant

Jessie Lee Bryant, daughter of Louis and Veronis McAfee was born November 15, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Jessie attended Columbus City Schools and graduated from East High School in 1945. After graduation, she worked various jobs as a housekeeper. On September 5, 1948, Jessie was united in holy matrimony to Robert Bryant. To this union, four children were born. Later, Jessie continued her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She was a dedicated employee of Grant Medical Center where she worked in the maternity ward. She retired after approximately thirty years of service. Her dedication to children continued as she was instrumental in helping to raise her grandson, Miguel. On Sunday morning, January 7, 2018, at Summit’s Trace Healthcare Center, our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom, summoned her from this earthly pilgrimage unto eternal rest. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Bryant, brother Eddie McAfee, and mother-in-law Arnetta Bryant. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory, children, William (Carol) Bryant, Charles Bryant, Sr. (Veronica), and Robin Lynn Bryant; grandchildren, Myesha Ivy-Miller, Merisa (Calvin) Dell, Vanessa (Ugo) Nwanwko, Angela (Craig) Barton, Miguel Bryant, and Charles Bryant, Jr.; sister-in-law Beverly McAfee; seven great grandchildren; The Hillmon Family; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and close friends. Jessie will be fondly remembered and missed by all for her unassuming spirit, quiet demeanor, and gentle love.
