Jessie Lee Cage

July 18, 1948 — March 12, 2020

Jessie Lee Cage, age 71, was born July 18, 1948 in Epes, Alabama. She departed this life on March 12, 2020. Jessie attended Daniel Payne College in Birmingham, Alabama and later moved to Columbus, Ohio to continue her education. She was employed with the Ohio Department of Transportation for 30 years. After she retired from the state, she became a realtor with Coldwell Banker King Thompson. At age 19, Jessie married the love of her life, Clemmie Cage. They were married for 53 years and together they raised two sons. The bond they shared was so deep that not even death could separate them. They transitioned into the next life together. Jessie loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church for many years. She adored her family with all her heart. She unselfishly gave of herself to all of those that she loved. She enjoyed reading her bible, watching craft shows, shopping, and spending time with family. She took delight in cooking for family gatherings. She is preceded in death by her parents Lemuel and Annie Bell (Harris) Mack and siblings Bessie Lee Mack, Grant Mack, and Nathaniel Mack. She leaves to carry on her legacy sons Nelson (April) Cage, Sr. and Perry (Angela) Cage; sisters Eartha “Sister” (Wardell) Myrick, Martha Prewitt, and Annie Lee “Darlin” (Robert James) Bishop; brother Herman “Buddy” (Pearl) Mack; grandchildren Phillip Cage, Santwone Cage, Dontaye Cage, Kadasia (Jessie) Coleman, and Nelson Cage, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren; and host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
