Jessie Carter (Sister) was born August 30, 1955 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Jesse and Polly Drummer. After the passing of her beloved mother and father, she was taken in and raised by her mom Roxie and her dad Richard Johnson, in Chicago IL. She confessed Christ and was baptized at a young age. She graduated early from Chicago’s Hirsch High School in 1973. In 1971, she started her career with McDonald’s and continued to work her way through the ranks until she became the supervisor for three McDonald’s restaurants in Chicago, IL. Jessie married her soulmate Cedric Carter on March 14, 1987 in Chicago, IL and was the mother of four children. In 1991, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she continued to work for McDonald’s. Together her and husband decided to purchase their own McDonald’s restaurant in 1999. They worked side by side for several years, but decided to move on in 2005. After selling the restaurant, she continued her career in the banking industry where she later retired in 2014. She was beautiful inside and out, caring, loving, and admired. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She reached her potential as a daughter, sibling, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a friend to all she met. She departed this life Thursday, January 4, 2018 leaving a legacy of love undaunted. Jessie is preceded in death by her brothers Elba and Lonzo Drummer. Jessie leaves to cherish her memories husband of 31 years: Cedric Carter. Four daughters: Veronica (James Goolsby) Braddock, Tameika (Elijah) Frazier, Shavonne (CL) Smith, Tiffani (Aaron) Kaylor. Five grandchildren: Jamica Braddock, Andre McCoy, Teyani Braddock, Shayree McCoy, Brooklyn Smith. One great-grandchild: True Black. Four sisters: Flora (Bill) Stubblefield, Eva (Horace) Lowe, Polly (Lapatrick) Johnson-Lewis, Latricia Johnson. Five brothers: Jesse (Betty Jean) Drummer Jr., Jim Drummer, Richard Johnson Jr., Ellis (Davette) Johnson, Kenneth (Melissa) Johnson. A sister-in-law: Gaynell Drummer (wife of Elba Drummer). A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
