Jessie Street, Jr. was born January 15, 1936 to Jessie and Lula Street, Sr. in Silver City, Mississippi. He worked for the City of Columbus from 1968 until 1993 where he earned several awards and citation such as, Employee of the year (1991), a brick placed with his name at the City of Columbus Refuse Collection Memorial Parkway, and a Citation of Recognition from Mayor Gregory S. Lashutka (1994). On February 1, 2019, Jessiemade his transition from his earthly home. He is preceded in death by wife Teretha Street, parents Jessie Street Jr. and Lula Street, daughter Louwida Bryant and brother Napoleon Street, Willie Street of Milwaukee, Wisc, James Street, Detroit Michigan, Maria Herron Of Milwaukee, Corine Starr of Belzoni, Miss, Mildred Richardson of Columbus. He leaves to cherish his memory his children; Marvin Street, Patricia (Trent) Bradley, Arthur Street, Coreta Underwood, Lawanda Street, Arshenda (Mattie) Street all from Columbus, Ohio; siblings, Mary Street of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and special nephew Charles Toy, many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
