As a devoted Muslim, he studied the teachings of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed. During his free time, he taught Islam in the prison system, and he also tutored elementary school-aged children how to read. He was educated in Springfield public schools. He departed this life surrounded by his closest friends and family, on a Jummah Friday during the holy month of Ramadan, which is considered a great blessing for Muslims. May Allah be pleased with Jihad and may Allah grant him the highest level in the hereafter – in Jannah al-Firdous, In Shaa Allah.
