Joan Elaine Brown, age 73, joined the Celestial Choir on July 5, 2014. Child of God, retired worker for the Columbus City Schools' Food Services, a devoted mother and to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through her singing. Joan Elaine Brown was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 11, 1940, to William and Pauline Brown. She graduated from East High. After 32 years she retired from the Columbus City Schools' Food Services. Joan raised one son, Carlos, and was Grandma to five grandchildren. When she accepted Christ into her life, she did as her favorite song Change says and was a lifetime member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a devoted choir member and enjoyed singing God's praises to visitors and members on Sundays. As a mother, she knew the importance of spiritual guidance in her family's life. The Lord called Sister Joan Elaine Brown into her eternal rest on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Her parents, William and Pauline Brown preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Carlos (Ronda Michelle) Brown, sister, Frances Johnson, five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends
