Joann Patterson

JoAnn Patterson, age 57, of Columbus, previously from Palm Bay, FL, passed away at Ohio State University Hospital’s James Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones on May 10, 2016. She was born in Fort Campbell, KY on May 11, 1958 to the late William L. Patterson and Mitsue Patterson. JoAnn was a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt. She moved to Florida back in 2001 to help care for her ill parents. She was a dedicated worker at Health First in Viera, FL until she became ill. Though she lived so far from her children and grandchildren, she made sure she called daily and made special visits. It was as if she never left. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Patterson, mother, Mitsue Patterson and father, William L. Patterson. She was survived by her daughters, Tamika (Russell) Swann-Carrington, Latisha Swann and Geneva Swann; 9 grandchildren, Knyasia, Briaunna, Milan, Rashawn, Jada, Amiya, Russell, Rahman and Paris; brother, Archie (Nadya) Patterson; sisters, Linda (Rick) Stovall, Mary (Steve) Remsburg and Gladys Patterson; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
