Joe Edward Chever departed this life on December 17, 2021. He was born on June 19, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio, the third child of Nishel and Dorothy Sutherland Chever. Joe graduated from Columbus North High School and attended Columbus Technical Institute. He served in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Police Officer for four years, including one tour in Vietnam. Afterward, he worked as a professional Chef in several restaurants and organizations and retired as a Nutrition Services Chef with Ohio Health. Joe was often recognized for his role as a Chef for the Rhodes State Office Tower. He was well known for his catering throughout the city, and he adored cooking at home for his family and friends. Joe was a jovial, bright, and exciting individual with the ability to memorably connect with anyone he met. His talent and skills as a Chef were expansive. He was a phenomenal father, uncle, brother, son, and friend. He will be greatly missed. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael, and nephew Jamal Whitaker. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly English Cole; grandson Reginald "Tre" Cole, III; brother William Chever; sisters Lynda and Jodelle Chever, and Jacquelin Holland; nephews David Murphy, Brian, Marc, Eric, and Phelan Chever; niece Solana Chever; and a multitude of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
