John Allen Sr

John Allen was born on November 10, 1934, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Myrtle Lou and Joe Allen. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Baptist faith. He was a retired brick mason and was previously employed by numerous construction companies throughout the State of Ohio. John was friendly and outgoing, enjoyed horse racing and was an avid card player. After a lengthy illness, John departed this life surrounded by loving family on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at OSU Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Allen and Willie Lee Copeland; and sister, Ann Mae Copeland. Left to cherish fond memories are his children, John Allen, Jr., Elaine Allen, Fred Allen, Linda Wade, Delores (Anthony) Kelley, Gloria Allen, Michael Harper, Tammy Anderson-Allen, Deaven Reese, and Darryl Reese; brothers, Jimmie Allen, Fred (Shirley) Allen, and Robert Allen; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including Delores Allen, Leroy Ingram, and Carlton Love.
