John Charles “Buddy” Jones was born on Monday, January 30, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Howard and Gertrude Jones. John C. Jones was also known as JJ, Buddy, Bud, Pa-Pa, and Pop J. John attended Marion Franklin High School, class of 1957. He played an active role in his school actives, which included football, track, basketball, and megaphone staff. In 1957, John joined the United States Army, where he received a good conduct medal before his honorable discharge in 1959. Later, John continued labor with Westinghouse and Metal Container, from which he retired from in 2006. He enjoyed employment at Metal Container for 29 years. After retirement, he gained employment with JDT Concierge. JJ had a great interest in cars, motorcycles, bowling, and watching sports. He was a die-hard Lakers and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He took great pleasure in caring for his home and cars! He absolutely loved listening to music. Blessed with 82 years of life, our beloved John C. Jones was called from labor to eternal rest on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard and Gertrude Jones and son, Timothy Lamar Jones. John is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Anjeanette) Kendrick and Dana M. Jones “Pookie”; grandchildren, Timothy Lamar Jones Jr., Dayamiaha Ja’Nean Jones “Baddie Boo/Butt”, Jeffrey Charles Jones, Jeremy Johnson, and Tori Lee Jones; sisters, Janice Jones and Joyce Ray “Pumpkin”; daughter-in-law, Lori Jones; special cousin, Harriet Hightower; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends; including special family friends, Clyde Medley, Nate Woods, Donald McDaniels, T. Gibbs, and April Woodard.
