John Hampton Sr

John W. Hampton, 82, passed away April 27, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Mr. Hampton was born September 24, 1934 to the late Palmore and Willie Mae Hampton in Holly Grove, Arkansas. He graduated from Holly Grove Vocational School in May 1954. Employed with the City of Columbus Water Department for over 40 years, he was also a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nobie, six sisters and five brothers. Survived by six children, Jacki Morris, Faye Hampton, John W. Hampton, Jr., Rene Hampton, Jonathan (Tsitsi) Hampton, and Shawn (Tonisia) Hampton; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
