John "Johnnie" Nixson

John “Johnnie” Nixson, 89, of Columbus, Ohio, went on to be with the Lord August 6, 2018. He touched many lives with his loving kindness and gentle nature. He will be missed sorely, but his charitable and sweet heart lives on in us. In 1989, Johnnie retired from The Timken Company after almost 38 years of service as a steel worker. He loved playing guitar, laughing, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Green) Nixon, parents, Edward and Mary (Curtis) Nixon, two brothers, Edward Jr. "Son" and Sam, and two sisters, Laura and Eloise. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth (William) Harris and Nina Nancijean Nixon, both of Columbus, Ohio; son Michael "Myke Rock" Nixon (Vera Moock) of Belgium; brother Hamp (Elvira) Nixon of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kellie, Brittany, Selena and William Jr.; great grandchild Toris; beloved nephews and nieces, Chris Gooden, Junior Dingle, Herbert Dingle, David Dingle, Annette Matthews and Mary King; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends in Ohio, New York and South Carolina.
