John Robert Fields

John Robert Fields, age 90, of Columbus, OH, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011, at Zusman Community Hospice, Wexner Heritage Village. John was born in Jacksonville, Fl,. to the late Onie Bell Baker and Robert G. Fields. He was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. John retired from the United States Postal Service as a Cost Accountant with 30 years of service. He was an avid bowler and fisherman, and enjoyed a life of service to anyone needing his help. John was a lifetime member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 45 years, Fluellen A. Fields; brothers, Charles Fields, Cecil and Willie Coleman; sister, Lula King. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Eugene (Carol) Fields, Brenda (Frank) Dunlap, and Lois A. Banks; sisters, Alice Young and Marie King Koon, of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-¬law, Alice Williams, of Paris, TN and Marchane Hawkins, of Columbus; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; favorite cousins, James Queen Millage; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
