John was an avid fisherman with many awards and pictures to show. There were so many fish fries, cookouts, card games and playing pool and good times spent with family and friends, He always took his boat out along with the Captain of his boat, Scotty Puppy. John lost him a few times but Scotty Puppy was like a bad penny, he always came home and John was happy. His fishing buddies all knew of them and they would tell him your wife loves that dog more than you, he would laugh and say, yeah, I know and I had better find him before I go home or I might not have a home.
John had a passion for music. He started out singing in a choir in church with his siblings. Upon moving to Ohio from West Virginia, he started a band with a few of his friends. He would work all day, home to shower and then off to play with his band in Springfield, Ohio.
John worked for Warner Maintenance and Construction through Local 423 Union Hall for over 25 years before retiring on January 1, 1994. John always believed in working along side of his employees even after becoming a member of Management. He said he would never ask them to do anything that he wouldn't do.
He was a kind, caring, loving man who always had an open door policy.
John will be missed by so many people. Another piece of so many peoples heart has been taken as so many loved ones before him. Go Rest High on That Mountain and watch over all of us until we meet at that river.
Special thanks to Zusman Hospice, his nurse Michelle and home health aide, Hannah for the care and love you showed to John and his family.
