John Thomas Hill Jr., affectionately known as “Johnny” was born January 23, 1948 in Louisville, KY to John and Ann Hill. On July 17, 2015, while in-patient at Mt Carmel West Hospital Johnny took his last breath and went home to the Heavenly Father. Johnny was baptized at an early age at The Oakley Avenue Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Jacob J. Ashburn, Jr. Johnny graduated from West High School in 1967 and immediately joined the United States Navy where he served two years during the Vietnam Conflict. After his discharge he met and married Carolyn Jackson. He was employed at Ohio Malleable for 15 year and retired from the United State Post Office after 26 years of service. He loved Ohio State football and his Cleveland Browns, shooting Pool and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, two favorite Uncles, and four wonderful Aunts. Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 44 years, Carolyn Hill; son, Brian Hill (Michele); daughters, Angela Hill, Erika Hill, and Keena Tinsley; Mother-in Law, Charlene Jackson; two Sister-in Laws, One brother-in Law, Seven Grandchildren, an over-protective sister, Jeannie Hill –Parks (Paul); and numerous cousins and friends.
