John Willie Allen

John Willie Allen, affectionately known as “Mack Maine”, was born August 11, 1946 in Augusta, Georgia. John attended school until the 5th grade. He enjoyed farming, practicing with guns and cans, and bowling. He received many trophies. John was employed at JG Iron Casting in Delaware as a fork lift driver and he was also a chef. He loved to play the numbers/lottery and watching cowboy shows and movies. John battled esophageal, prostate, lung, and bone cancer for five years. He departed this life on June 21, 2019 at his residence. John was preceded in death by his parents, Hezekiah and Stonnie Mae Allen; brother, John Henry Allen; sisters, Paulette Ann Butler, Betty Mae Allen, and Gertrude Allen; and nephews, Barry Leon Harris, Jr. and Robert Ramsey. John is survived by his son, James “Jasper” Butler; daughter, Santara; brother, Leroy Allen; sisters, Willa Mae Williams, Louise Slaughter, and Fannie Mae Watkins; loving niece, Kandyce (Ralph) Butler-Green; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
