Johnny Gardner Jr

Johnny Lee Gardner, Jr., age 78, born September 10, 1938 in Cusseta, GA, passed away May 5, 2017 at his residence in Columbus, OH. After graduating from Cusseta High School in 1958, Johnny worked and resided in Columbus, GA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Syracuse, NY, before settling in Columbus, OH. He was a faithful and active member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church for over 30 years and retired from Maryhaven where he was last employed as a Lead Case Aide. Preceded in death by his son Lance Gardner, parents, Pinkie Mae and Johnny Gardner, Sr., and brothers Herman “Bud”, and Acey. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra; daughter Tamara Gardner Wells; son Channing (Yvonne) Gardner; sisters, Hazel (Curtis) Wilson, Ann (James) Huff, and Maranda Meadows; brothers, Raiford (Carolyn) and Naiford (Vevlyn) Gardner; sister-in-law Mildred Gardner; grandchildren, Ashley (Foster) Grant, Lance Gardner, Chandler Wells, Alexandria and Erica Gardner; favorite aunts, Queenie Mae King and Equilla King; great grandchildren, Sidney, Simone, Shauna, Sierra, Chandler Jr., Jace, Enrique, and Jeremiah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
