Jonnie Mae Bradshaw

February 4, 1937 — March 23, 2019

Jonnie Mae Bradshaw was born on February 4, 1937 to the late Albert and Addie Mae Gunter in Dearing, Georgia. She loved to going to church and was very active having served on several auxiliaries, church secretary, singing in the choir, and counsel board, just to name a few. Jonnie Mae also enjoyed working in the bakery and was a hairdresser working from her childhood home, and was well known in the community as a lady who could do the best press and curl. It was at her childhood church where she met the late Pastor Jimmy Bradshaw. They married in 1959, moved to Columbus, Ohio and had three children. Not only did Jonnie Mae help Pastor Bradshaw as a prime example of a first lady wit h her love, kindness, and patience, she was always that way with her children and as a teacher’s aide. She especially loved working with children who had learning disabilities. Years later, First Lady Jonnie Mae and Pastor Bradshaw were called to lead Solid Rock Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member serving as a deaconess, choir member, and organizer. Jonnie Mae was a proud lady and rightly so.. Jonnie Mae is preceded in death by her husband Pastor Jimmy Bradshaw and her brother’s Willie Gunter and Ace Gunter. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Cherri Bradshaw, Marlon Bradshaw, and Jerold (Sheilah) Bradshaw; grandchildren, Hunter Bradshaw, Jaylin Bradshaw, and Jarrin Bradshaw; sister’s, Myrtle Merritt and Alberta Williams; brother, Ervin Gunter; family friend, Linda Carrington Scott; Solid Rock Church Members, especially, Sis. North and Sis. Parnell; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. We all will miss her so much!
