Josephine Harden was born March 14, 1944 to Naomi McDowell Harden and Lawrence Harden. She grew up in a loving family with twelve siblings, and was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio. In 1970, at the age of 26, Josephine started her 20-year career at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where she worked as a Nurse Aide and was recognized as an “Employee of the Month.” She was an active member of the East 18th Avenue Prayer Band, in which she received the Dedication Award in 1986. Josephine was a loving and caring mother of two boys, and she dedicated her life to raising her children. On September 20, 2016, at the age of 72, Josephine Harden passed away at Friendship Village of Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Harden, Jr., Lloyd Harden, and Richard Harden; and sisters, Betty Dawson and Emma Myers. Left to cherish memories of Josephine are her sons, Tyrone (Lori) Harden and Jermaine Harden; beloved grandchildren, Tyneisha, Jeremy, Jaylah, and Justin Harden; brothers, Ervin Charles, Ronnie, and Willie Harden; sisters, Geraldine (David) Carter, Mary Elaine Harden, Delores Givens, and Dorothy Harden; sister-in-law, Sallie Harden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
