Juanita Cartharn

December 12, 1949 — September 30, 2012

A Time to Be Born… Juanita Cartharn, was born to the late Rev. Jesse James and Erma A. Russell, December 12th 1949 in Lexington Mississippi. She was the 1st girl and 5th child of 14 children. A Time to Die… God in His infinite wisdom has touched and called from this life another servant. Juanita departed this life on Sunday afternoon September 30th 2012. A Time to Love… Juanita and Cornelius met at Church, that same night he asked her out on a date. On their first date Cornelius asked Juanita to marry him, her response “it is too soon, but I will let you know in two weeks”. 33 years and 3 children later needless to say the marriage was very real and very strong. Juanita and Cornelius loved the Lord and shared that same love among one another. Juanita and Cornelius have 3 lovely daughters Keyona, Krystal and Kalisha in which she spoiled all the time (J). The Lord also blessed Juanita and Cornelius with their special daughter Charmaine of whom she considered her own and loved dearly. She was affectionately called “Nee-Nee” by her children grandchildren, Juanita worked hard for her family. A Time to Plant… Juanita was reared up in a God fearing home and learned about Christ at an early age. She joined the Mt. Zion M. B. Church in Lexington Mississippi, under the direction of Rev. J. H. Johnson where she was baptized at an early age. Juanita attended grammar school at Mileston Vocational School, she then attended High School at Tchula Attendance Center (Currently S.V. Marshall High). Juanita continued her education at Saints Junior College, in Lexington Mississippi and earned her associates degree. Juanita also returned to her Alma Mata as a teacher as her love for children began to grow. Juanita after graduating from college decided to relocate and settle in Columbus, Ohio. She worked modeled clothing for Lazarus and later transitioned into the field of accounting where she worked for Capital Manufacturing Company. Juanita was a daycare provider for over twenty years; Also, she was employed with J.C. Penney Company for many years. A Time to Cry… Juanita’s passing certainly grieves the hearts of family and friends, as she was a devoted, caring, and inspirational woman of God. We take comfort in the word of the Lord that she is absent from the body and present with the Lord.
