Juanita D. Webster, age 102, daughter of Raymond and Velma Davis, died on Friday, February 6, 2015. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Juanita was, by profession, an educator. She entered teaching at an early age after graduation from Fisk University in Nashville, TN. She earned her Master’s Degree in Art Education from The Ohio State University. She was a life-long member of the African Methodist Episcopal church. Over her long career, she persistently prepared herself to proceed from classroom teacher, to school principal, to director of the Model Cities education component for the Columbus School District. Throughout her progression of accomplishments, her sole objective was to deliver the best education possible for all district students and particularly to those who had fewer advantages in life. Exceeding her professional rise was her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, educator: we grieve at her passing, but celebrate over a century of life well lived. Survived by son, Stanley E. Webster; daughter-in-law, Lynette A. Webster; grandson, Desmond B. Webster; granddaughter, Andrea M. Webster; sister-in- law, Jeanette Rouchion; nephews, Sam Rouchion, Edward Rouchion, James Rouchion, and Guy Miller; niece, Susan Miller, and special nieces Katherine-Jane Pace and Juanita Becker.
