Julia Brown, age 84, born March 16, 1928 in Dundee, MS, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012. A Founding Member and Mother of Southfield Community Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess Emeritus and Sunday School teacher. Predeceased by husband Otis Brown, parents Robert and Goldie Burnett, brothers Norman and Luther Burnett, and sisters Lillie Mae Nickson and Virgie Rodgers. Survived by children, James E. (Terry Lynn) Brown, Diane Brown, and Patricia A. Brown; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 7 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at Southfield Baptist Church, 1399 Augmont Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the start of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
