Julia Lee Alexander

Julia Lee Hill Alexander, 81, of Groveport, OH, departed this life and went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2013. She was born on June 4, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a child and adult, Julia attended Jones Tabernacle AME Zion Church in Indianapolis. Upon graduating from high school, she attended nursing school and received a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree. She was united in marriage to Virgil Vaughn Alexander on March 21, 1953. Julia and her family moved to the Columbus area in 1971 where she became an active member of First AME Zion Church. She became involved in the Stewardess Board until she became ill. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; and oldest daughter, Sharon. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 60 years, Virgil; daughters, Karin (Lester) of Mocksville, NC and Nina Alexander, of Columbus OH; 9 grandchildren, Robin, Shannon and Virgil (Anessia) and Tyara Carter, Corey (Lauren) Lawson, Lashawn Alexander, Michael and Jason Chunn and Tenia (Duane) Allen; two special grandchildren, J’aime Smith de Incas and Mezyurah Scott; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; adopted sister, Dorothy Smith; special friend, Shirley Price and cousins, Norma Jean and Barbara Jones.
