Julia Mae Craig was born September 3, 1930 in Thomaston, GA. Julia graduated from high school and obtained her degree in nursing, which she was very proud of. She was employed at and retired from Mercy Hospital. Julia married Leroy Craig December 12, 1950. She enjoyed playing softball and outdoor sports and she loved traveling. She attended the YMCA for swimming lessons. Some of her hobbies including playing bingo, fishing, watching soap operas, and playing cards. She loved taking care of her family and having "many, many, more" good times with family and friends. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Craig; mother, Addalie Holmes; daughter, Wonder Mae Grace; best friend, Marion Clinkscales; aunt, Sallie Holmes; and cousins, Diane Moon and Nadine Barksdale. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Alver (Pamela) Craig, Sr. and Michael Craig; daughter, Sarah (Ernie) Craig-Yates; grandkids, Mark Grace, Alphonso Grace, Chris (Erica) Grace, Sr., Angela Grace, Kacey Grace, Gavin Grace-Giles, Evelyn Craig, Kenya Craig, Sequoia Craig, Ladonna Craig, Addison Craig, Alex Craig, Adrian Craig, Aaron (Alicia) Craig, Alisha Craig, Alver Craig, II, and Alver Craig, III; cousins, Tony Moon, Shawn Moon Rodney (Teresa) Holmes, and Willie Robert Holmes; a host of great and great-great grandkids; and "many, many more".
