Karen Denise (Blackshear) Evans, 54, was born on February 15, 1959 in Oakland, California to the parents of Louis and Bennie Ruth Blackshear. She was one of nine born to this union. She was a mother of one daughter, Marlynn and two sons, Eric and Alvin. Karen was affectionately known to her family as “Teeters.” She was a kind, loving, funny and very giving individual. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved attending family cookouts and gatherings. She loved to dress, dance and sing. She met Kevin Evans in 2003 and later became his wife on August 1, 2004. She was baptized as a Jehovah Witness in 2007. She had a strong faith in Jehovah and loved to serve. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bennie Ruth Blackshear; sons, Eric and Alvin Beverett; brothers, George, James, Eric Blackshear and sister, Lynn Blackshear. Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Kevin Evans; daughter, Marlynn (Michael Bruce) Beverett; sister, Marion McCutcheon, Michelle Blackshear; stepchildren, Christina, Yolanda, Anthony Stroh, Kevin Evans, Jr., Markita Evans; brothers, David (Carletta) Blackshear, Louis Blackshear; grandchildren, Quincy White, Michael White, Karizma Whelle, Karyn and Mia Wilson, Avenona Beverett, Nakita Bruce, Candace Beverett, Robert Hardy and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
