Karen Lovette 'Love' Jones

Karen Lovette Jones was born April 7, 1953 to John Henry Jones and Pecolia Mayhew in Maitland (McDowell County), West Virginia. Karen was blessed with a vocal gift and sung in the church choir during her childhood. She earned an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Construction Management; however, at time of her death, she was employed as a Home Health Care Aide. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed fishing and sharing the company of her family and friends. She attended Rhema Christian Center. She departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at her residence. She was preceded in death by Linda Jones, Juanita Thompson, and her father John H. Jones, Sr. Left to cherish memories of Karen are her one and only son Love K. Jones, Sr. (Jacqueline) of Killeen, Texas; grandchildren, Teayla (12), Teasia (7), Jahdaya (5), Amor (2), and Love K. Jones, Jr. (2); brothers James and John Henry (Jeanette); sisters, Joan, Bethsheba, Sherry, and Tracey Jones; godchildren, Gina, Marie, Sekou, Khadja, Rahsaan, and Meisha Cox; beloved dogs Kissy and Big Bear; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends. Celebration of Life 10 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service. Rev. Audrey DuPuy, officiating.
