Karol J. Watson was born June 12, 1955 to Ethel Jean (nee Clark) and Joseph Clarence Watson in Columbus, Ohio. In her youth, Karol was educated in the Columbus City Schools and was involved in various extracurricular activities, particularly those centered around the performing arts. While attending Barrett Middle School, she was a flutist in the school orchestra. Karol also studied ballet and tap at the Jeanette Grider School of Dance. She graduated from South High School. Later, she decided to return to school and further her education. At the age of 55, she earned an Associate degree and Bachelor degree in Business Management from Ashford University. She was employed by the Defense Logistics Agency and worked as an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer with the Defense Supply Construction Center (DSCC) for 29 years. She planned several successful multicultural events during her tenure with the agency. On November 29, 2015, at the age of 60, Karol departed this life while at her residence. Her parents preceded her in death. Karol is survived by her loving son, Karlos Watson; brothers, Gregory and Marc Watson; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Karon, and Ka’lelah Watson; special niece Amber Boggs; and a host of other family and friends.
