Kelvin Lorenzo Smith

Kelvin Lorenzo Smith went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 19, 2013 at 9:13 p.m. Kelvin was born August 3, 1952 in Toledo Ohio to The Late Mrs. Dollie Holman. He was a graduate of Columbus East High School- Home of the EHS Tigers where he played in the marching band and played on the baseball team. He received his Associate Degree from Columbus State. He was employed by The Columbus Urban League. He was the Assistant Boys Coach at Mifflin High School for fourteen years where he served alongside his long time friend and colleague Coach Eugene Caslin. Kelvin L. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, The Late Mr. Mrs. James and Dollie Holman, Father Mother-in-law The Late Rev. Mrs. Landis C. and Doris Brown, Sr., Brother in-law, The Late Rev. Landis C. Brown, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: Loving brother and sister, Robert and Pamela Holman; daughters, Chanelle C. Smith and Ashlee Taylor, (Columbus); son, Bryan Smith, currently in the Military, stationed in Alaska; grandchildren, Carmella and Sir Carmello Taylor; special friends, Rev. Landareece Brown, Delores Page and Sybil Taylor; father and mother-in-law, Mr. Jimmie (Pearl) Wells; special friend/brother, Eugene Caslin; sisters-in-law, Doris (Aaron) Hull, (GA), Landa Brown Bates, (MI), Lannette Brown Gray, (CA), Lisa Wells (Cols.) and Terri Rutledge; and a host of family and friends.
