Kenneth Bass

KENNETH WAYNE BASS was born Sunday, December 8, 1935, in Dowagiac, Michigan. He was affectionately known as “Kenny” by family and friends. Kenneth was a God-fearing man who loved his family. He married the love of his life, Dorothy J. Bass, on October 5, 1958. The patriarch of the family, Kenneth led by example. He was a dedicated husband, a loving father, and an affectionate grandfather.

Kenneth was employed with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. He retired after twenty years of dedicated service. While a Corrections Officer, he managed the Inmate Leather Arts & Crafts Program and was assigned to the special unit Swat Team.

Blessed with eighty-seven years of life, our beloved Kenneth W. Bass entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy J. Bass; brothers, Michael Bass, Ronald Bass, and Robert Connor; and sisters, Linda Johnson and Janet Ivens.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Glennis Godby; sons, Kenneth Bass Jr., Gary (Doobie) Bass, and Eric (Cyndy) Bass; daughters, Glennis (Bill) Butcher and Sharon (Anthony) Wilson; grandchildren, Daryl Bryant, Kathy Jones, Earl Williams, Brandon Butcher, Eddie Arnold, Darren (Margeretta) Carrington, Meckiela Laney, Eric Bass Jr., Angel Bass, and Frank (Katie) Bass; a host of great grandchildren, other family members, and dear friends.
