Kinsel Malcolm Peyton

March 13, 1944 — July 7, 2011

Kinsel, a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, was born on March 13, 1944. He transitioned from this life on July 7, 2011 at the age of 67. He was baptized at Oakley Baptist Church and was a member of the Youth Usher Board and Youth Choir. Kinsel is preceded in death by his father, Cheltz H. Peyton, his mother, Lily W. Miller Peyton Williams, and his older brother Cheltlz L.Peyton. Kinsel is survived by his loving wife, Kemba Nzinga, daughter Tonya (Willie) Frazier (East Point, GA), Chana Peyton, sons Brent Carr (San Bernadino, CA), Kalonji Nzinga, daughter Nalo Nzinga, granddaughters Andrea and Jasmine Frazier, sisters Wendolyn (Winnie) (Fred) Bonaparte (Stone Mountain, GA) and Drusilla (Buffy) (Reed) Collins and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins relatives and friends. Kinsel was on the track team at Starling Junior High. He went on to become a Central High School River Rat and later joined the Navy, serving honorably on the Mediterranean Sea. He was a long time member and supporter of the All African Peoples’ Revolutionary Party, dedicating his life to liberating peoples of African descent. Kinsel was an avid fisherman, handyman and loved his garden. He explored his love of art and construction by experimenting in various media, creating art projects for his children and later exhibiting his original African walking sticks at the ACE Gallery (Columbus, OH). Always the hard worker and living by the mantra “We don’t take breaks,” he worked tirelessly in various local industries. Lastly he worked as promoter and designer for the Perfect Balance System. With an undying love for his people he was engaged in community uplift throughout his life.
