LARRY BLAND COLES went home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, unexpectedly, at age 71, surrounded by family. Larry was born on Sunday, April 8, 1951, to Joseph and Mary Coles of Columbus, Ohio. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He was a proud graduate and athlete of East High School, Class of 1969. Larry went on to have a long career with AT&T. He then worked at Columbus Coated Factory and retired from Roxanne Labs where he was a shift supervisor. Larry was a fourth-degree black belt and enjoyed being a self-proclaimed pitmaster. Larry loved sports. He watched anything that involved a ball: football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, and golf. He also was a long time, avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Larry was a brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He always had an ear to listen. Once he warmed up, Larry was guaranteed to be the life of the party. Larry B. Coles was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Coles; sisters, Dianne Coles, Catherine Parnell, and Martha Jean Wright. He is survived by his children: daughters, Shawna Coles, Keena Coles, Danyel Coles, and son, Curtis Coles; grandchildren, Courtney Hayes, Jalen Crosby, and Justin Tucker; great grandchildren, Noah Lee Coles, Dejahn Lee Witherspoon, Kory Lee Witherspoon, and Sarah Lee Witherspoon; siblings, Joseph (Theresa) Coles, Richard Coles, Inez Poindexter, Barbara (Bruce) Norton, Mary L. Coles, and Charles Coles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends. Left also to cherish his memory are Larry's former wives, Lee Anna Humphrey, Pamela Coles, and Linda Benson.
