Larry Crawford Brasher, the eldest of three children, was born to the late Georgia Anna Brasher and James Brasher on August 31, 1949 in Tiptonville, Tennessee. He departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after an extended illness. Larry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He graduated from East High School in Columbus, Ohio, and furthered his education at Franklin University. Larry served in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among several other commendations for his honorable service. Larry was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 40 years. Both his parents and his nephew, Michael G. Favours, preceded Larry in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful and loving wife of 24 years, Linda Jean Brasher; son Larry J. Brasher, Jr.; granddaughter Tiara Colvin; brother Glen (Phyllis) Brasher; sister Sheila B. Favours; mother and father-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Conley, Sr.; devoted friends, Nora (William Jr.) Butler, Bertha (Lonnie Sr.) Nichols, and Claude (Yvonne) Graham; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Service 2 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the start of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
