LaTasha Renee Smedley and her twin, LaToya, were born on November 17, 1979 in Columbus, Ohio, and adopted by Zenora and George Kenley. As a child, LaTasha was a shy, easy-going little girl, but didn’t let that stop her from being heavily involved in numerous choirs, her church drill team, and the “Sunshine Band.” She attended and graduated from Fort Hayes High School. In LaTasha’s senior year, she was attained by Z Models modeling agency where she and LaToya were a part of frequent fashion shows. They also started their first job at Kroger, before moving on to Fifth Third Bank. In 2000, LaTasha started working at Huntington National Bank, where she remained for thirteen years. She met so many people along the way whose lives she impacted with her sweet, quiet personality. She began her career at Chase Bank in 2013, where she was currently working and quickly made friends, showing love and support to those she worked with. At a youth music event, LaTasha met the love of her life, Phillip A. Smedley, II, and they were married on July 19, 2003. From their union, were born two girls and one boy, Nalani, Niah and Phillip A. Smedley, III. LaTasha absolutely loved her family and whole-heartedly supported Phillip’s family as well. She often talked about Phillip’s events and was always so supportive of his dreams. Her children meant the world to her, keeping them involved in activities at school, church and in sports. She loved to travel, eat a good steak, and hated soggy bread. In 2007, LaTasha earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as her Master’s of Business Administration in 2009, both from the University of Phoenix. She was in the process of obtaining her second Master’s in Accounting. LaTasha became a faithful member of the Eliezer Church of Christ in 2003, where she held many offices such as Church Secretary, Church Treasurer, Directress of the Mass Choir and Children’s Choir. She was a Vacation Bible Study teacher and member of the budget committee. LaTasha was preceded in death by grandfather, Gordon Wilson and grandmother, Clara Kenley. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband of 12 years, Phillip A.
