Lavinia "Cookie" Anderson

Lavinia Corine Anderson, affectionately known as “Cookie” and “Annie,” was born to Jesse Arthur Lee Sheppard, II and Yvonne Muse Sheppard on May 1, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio. She was educated in the Columbus Public School System and graduated from East High School in 1969. Cookie met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Anthony Joseph Anderson, I, from May 1983 until his death. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a child and was a lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was baptized by the late Dr. E. A. Parham. A regular attendee and supporter of the church, Cookie volunteered with the Food Pantry and the Thanksgiving Feast. She was employed by the Mount Carmel Health Systems as a computer operator and retired with over thirty years of service. She enjoyed attending Lincoln Theater events, cooking classes, volunteering, and traveling. Special nephews fulfilled her dream of going to Alaska. Cookie was also a member of the Central Community Senior group. She loved spending time with the family, opened her heart and home to many, and was loved by all. Cookie was blessed with 69 years of life and was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Joseph Anderson, I; son Anthony “Tony” Anderson, II; mother Yvonne Sheppard; father Jesse Arthur Lee Sheppard, II; brother Jesse Arthur Lee Sheppard, III; maternal and paternal grandparents. Loving memories are cherished by her brother Victor (Janet) Sheppard; sister Marcia Johnson; additional siblings, Afatamah, Debra, Ruth, Toni and Harry; sister-in-law, Annetta Anderson; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Cookie will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Eternal peace and sweet rest, Cookie; you have finished your course.
