Lena Geraldine Groce

Lena G. Groce, 89, born in Columbus, Ohio on April 8, 1923 from the union of John Green and Marie Nash. She departed this life on the morning of June 22, 2012, in Columbia South Carolina, after a long battle of respiratory illness. Mrs. Groce was a Cosmology School Graduate and retired Food Service worker at East High School, Columbus, Ohio, a member of Faith Mission Church of God in Christ, and served on the Trustees Board and as the Treasurer of the church. Predeceased by her parents; husband Robert Groce; sisters Laura Willis, Frances Hough, Vera Smith and Rosemary Jones, and brother Ned Green of California. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted and loving son, James Groce, Columbia SC; and daughter, Cheryl (John) Stevens, Orlando FL; brothers, William Green, Columbus, Ohio and Edward Green, of California; grand-daughters; Kristin Nance and Alexis Groce; favorite nephews, James L. and Gerald Smith; aunt, Dorothy Battle and several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
