Leroy Haskins, Sr. was born May 4, 1937 to John and Minnie Haskins in Virginia. He departed this life at his residence on May 18, 2024. He grew up in the state of Virginia. Leroy was a commercial driver for Gordon Transportation, United McGill, and retired from Consolidated Freight.
He was a faithful member of The Columbus Bible Way Church, Inc., where he sang in the Gospel Choir and the Men’s Chorus. He loved fishing, hunting, bowling, and most of all he loved the Lord. Leroy was affectionately known to be a “sharp dresser.”
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Haskins, brother John B. Haskins, sisters Pearl Gavin, Odell Slayton, and Delma Logan.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 67 years, Nancy; children Allen (Direne) Haskins, Sherry Kidd, and Trini Blue; 2 grandsons, Leroy 3rd, and Richard Blue, Sr.; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Ann Pannell of VA, Gracie Waters of Lindenwold, NJ, Teasley Hiton and Ellen Thomas both of Philadelphia, PA, Gladys Davis of Lynchburg, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
