Lillian Louise 'Snookie' Payne

Lillian Snookie Payne, age 79, went home with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at OSU Medical Center, just days prior to her 8oth birthday. Lillian was born September 9, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, where she attended Columbus public schools and later worked as a nurse's assistant and as an aide to MRDD children. Preceded in death by her husband Ralph R. Payne, daughter Geraldine Battle, parents Clarence and Theresa Edwards, brothers James, Walter, and Leo Edwards, and sister Virginia West. Lillian is survived by children, Willie Radcliff, Priscilla Nix, Sheila Radcliff, and Jeffrey Radcliff; brother Robert Edwards; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, with family receiving friends from 1 p.m. until the start of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
