Lillie Harris Roy

Mrs. Lillie Harris Roy was born February 2, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio. A graduate of Columbus East High School, Lillie attended The Ohio State University Twilight School and Columbus State Community College. She retired from DIS/DSCC after 30 years of service and was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was the former Wedding Coordinator and faithfully served the Lott Carey. She was a former real estate sales associate with Real Property Rental Management and Maintenance and held memberships in AARP, the Women's Service Board of MLK Jr. Cultural Arts Center, Columbus Urban League, and NAFAD. On Thursday, February 9, 2012, Lillie Harris Roy was called Home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents Embry O. Harris, Sr. and Robie H. Harris, sister Addie Harris Flemister, brothers Embry and Rolland Harris, sister-in-law Audrey Harris, former husband and children's father Henderson S. Days, and husband Jesse S. Roy. She is survived by daughters Latricia A. Sparks and Rosalind D. Jordan, both of Columbus, Ohio; sons Henderson O. (Judie) Days of Lyndhurst, Ohio and Kevan (Betty) Days of Cordova, Tennessee; adopted stepson Richard E. Gardner; sisters, Eleanor Tyler, Hattie E. Merrill, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Delores (Robert) Lewis of Springfield, Massachusetts; brothers Dezzie (Bessie) Harris and Nathaniel Harris; 11 grandchildren, Theophilus Tommy Wheat, Andrew Jordan, Michael (Melissa) Dowdy, Denyele Wheat, Stephanie (Granyl) Jordan-Smith, Kemba Days-Yancey, Amber Days, Korey Days, Dyanna Sparks-Scott, Henderson Eddie Days, and Jameson Jamie Days; 21 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 godchildren; sisters-in-law Nora Roy of Nashville, Tennessee and Frances (Clarence) Holloway of Montgomery, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loving friends.
