Linda G. Massey, age 62, while in the arms by her loving mother, passed over into the loving arms of Jesus Christ Friday, January 6, 2012. Linda was the daughter of Harold Colbert and Vivian Dobur, and entered into this world March 17, 1949 in Youngstown, OH. Linda graduated from Withrow High School, Cincinnati, OH, with honors, and acquired a higher education, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from “The Ohio University” and a Master’s degree in Education from Dayton University. Linda achieved success as a Columbus Public School Educator and Counselor until she retired in 2008. After retirement she continued to educate children by being a daycare administrator. She loved arts and crafts, designing many scrapbooks with love. She also loved being a part of many social circles, such as Jack and Jill and Sweetie’s Book Club, as well as the Kente Klub Book Group and Jaquanana . She was always willing and eager to give her honest and direct opinion on any topic or subject. We proudly and fondly remember her as a caring and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, with integrity and compassion. Linda leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, James Massey; children, Maleka (Ernest) Smith and Taryn Massey; mother, Vivian Dobur; sister, Denise Colbert; and God-child, Shar-Reese Alfred. She was a loving, mother figure to many, and she also leaves behind many other family and friends. We do not lose the ones we love; God takes them in his care….
