Linden Revere Nuby Sr., was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 10, 2022, at the age of 91. Linden was born on August 3, 1930 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He attended school in Bidwell, Ohio. He met the love of his life, Earnestine, while being stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Lots of love and laughter was shared between the two over the course of their 60-year marriage. Together, they had five children: Dyceria, Marvella, Linden Jr., Mark, and Lucretia. Having enlisted twice in the Army, he was extremely proud of his military service. He served in Germany during the Korean Conflict as a paratrooper with the 82" Airborne Division. After his military service, Linden was employed with Westinghouse Corporation in which he worked for 26 years before retiring. He could not stay retired for long, as he soon found himself employed with Columbus City Schools for five years before officially retiring. Linden was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, road trips (especially yearly trips to Gallipolis, Ohio for the Emancipation celebration), and spending time with family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by those that knew and loved him. Linden was preceded in death by his wife, Earnestine; his parents, Jerry and Lydia Nuby; sister, Gloria Simpson; nephew, Jeremiah Simpson (Buzzy). Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his children, Dyceria, Drakeford, Marvella (Clarence) Dade, Linden Jr., Mark, Lucretia (Alex) Davis, and son-in-law, Aaron Drakeford, Sr.; grandchildren, DaRon (Taylor) Irby, Clarence J. Dade, Clinton Dade, and Aaron (Kristin) Drakeford, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Montae, Leslie, Jeremy, Kennedi, Jaden, Tyler, Sebastian, Kinsley, Braxton, Kiara, Aidyn, Kaelyn, and Kambry; great-great-grandchildren, Omai and Antiwan; sister, Mazie Peterson; nieces and nephews, Larry (Vivian) Peterson, Carlita Johnson, Linda Peterson, and Jeffrey Peterson; sister-in-law, Marva, Jacqueline, and Pamela; and special niece, Novella (Keith) Taylor.
