Lucille M. Jackson

December 18, 1922 — August 10, 2012

On December 18, 1922 Lucille M. Jackson was born to the late Rev. George T. and Susie B. Morse in Clarke County Athens, Ga. She was the baby girl of twelve. In her earlier years, after the passing of both parents, she was sent to Chicago, Illinois to live with an aunt and uncle. She later moved to Logan, West Virginia with her older sister. In 1944 they both relocated to Charleston, West Virginia. She graduated from Garnet High School. In Charleston, she united with the First Baptist Church of Vandalia where she faithfully attended and sang in the choir. She married Reginald Washington and from that union a daughter was born. Later they divorced and she remarried Romeo C. Jackson Jr. She attended the local Community College and worked as a liaison for the Kanawha County Senior Program and traveled extensively. In 1974, she moved to Columbus, Oh. and united with the Hope Lutheran Church where she served as an usher until her failing health. She worked for the Columbus Board of Education as an Aide within the school system. She also worked for the CDC in Hilltop who gave her an award in 1986 for 1 ° years of service. It is from here that she retired. On Friday, August 10,2012 she passed away peacefully. She is survived by one daughter, Camille A. Blythe, one grandson Brian H. Jackson (Tiffany), 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
