Lucille Walker was born February 9, 1925 to Ephram Williams and Hattie Carr Williams in Greenville, North Carolina. She sacrificed her own education to assist with raising her younger siblings by working on the family farm. Lucille became a mother at a very young age and devoted her time to raising her children. For many years, she was a resident of Newport News, Virginia, where she worked as a Seafood Processor, before relocating to Columbus, Ohio. She placed a great emphasis on family. Within her children and grandchildren, she instilled a belief in God early in their lives. She was willing to open her home to anyone in need and accepted the responsibility of caring for her grandchildren when necessary. On March 20, 2016, Lucille answered the call to take her eternal rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior while at the Ohio State University Medical Center East in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Walker, daughter Cherry-Ann Dean, and sons, Ephram Williams, Colin Hyman, Stephen Walker, and Willie Hyman. Left to cherish memories of Lucille are her children, Charles Hyman, Calvin Walker, Yvonne Johnson, Doris Allen, Larry Walker, Sylvia Walker, Russell Walker, and Jimmy (Natalie) Coleman; sisters, Laura Garrett and Lizzy Chamberlain; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
