Magaret 'Aunt Esther' Barnett

Margaret E. Barnett, aged 84 passed peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born in Weirton, West Virginia to Levi and Elnora Sanford on August 15, 1931. Margaret was a loyal and faithful housewife supported by her husband for 67 years. She loved going to worship at Mt. Period Missionary Baptist Church and she loved reading the Bible, playing 3-5-9 and 5000 card games. She also liked looking at old black and white programs on TV. Her favorite program was Reba and TI from Family Hustle because of his family values. Margaret’s home was always open to people in need of a place to eat, sleep, cry, etc., from every walk in life. She impacted many people with her giving and helping spirit. Margaret was fondly known as Mom, Grandma, Aunt Esther and Ms. Barnett. Margaret is predeceased by husband John W. Barnett, Sr.; parents Levi and Elnora Sanford; daughter Emelda; grandsons John S. and Gary; granddaughter Keara; son-in-law Robert Morgan; brothers Rufus, Holbert; sisters Francis, Luvenia, Pansy and Toy. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Tony (Renee); godson, Jeffrey Kee; daughters, Sharon, Nadine (Larry Sr.), Francine, Jeannien (Robert); grandchildren, Sherrelle, Waymon, Shawn (Alison), Nikki, Robbie, Justin (Ginger), Karla (James B.), Teresa, Larry Jr, Donnie, Larrilyn, Dionne, Jimmy, Ulique (Tony); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thanks to nieces, Eunice, Elenorene; nephew, Mitchell, Sharon Woods and the Granville Street family.
