Marcia Bonita Sawyers Kincaid was born on December 27, 1924, in Middleport, Ohio to James and Anna Singer. On the evening of April 8, 2015, at the Minerva Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio, the Angels of the Lord came forth and carried our beloved Marcia to her heavenly home, at the age of 90 years old. Marcia, who was affectionately called Mott, spent her early years in Institute, West Virginia, and Charleston, West Virginia. In 1973, she moved her family to Compton, California, where she remained a longtime resident. During a visit to Columbus, Ohio, she suffered a debilitating stroke and spent the last ten years as a resident of the Minerva Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In addition to her parents, Mott was preceded in death by her former husbands, Fredrick D. Sawyers and Keith Kincaid, maternal grandmother, Carrie Payne, siblings, Anna Margaret Oiler, James Singer, Joan Layne and Richard Singer, granddaughter, Amber Sawyers, grandson, Andrew Williams, and daughter-in-law, Lola Sawyers. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Robert (Georginia) Singer of Rock Hill, SC, Bonita Burton of Dunbar, WV, Fredricka (Johnny) Miller of Long Beach, CA, James Sawyers of Chester, VA, William (Ye Vonne) Sawyers of Houston, TX, Dawn (Michael) Jackson of Columbus, OH, Charles Sawyers of Greensboro, NC, Brian Sawyers of Los Angeles, CA, Ellen Sawyers of Inglewood, CA, Victor (Pamela) Sawyers of Pinedale, CA, and stepdaughter Mitzi Kincaid of Marietta, GA; 34 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Florence Moore of Canton, OH, Dorothy Casey of Gallipolis, OH, Rita Blair of Dayton, OH, Jane (Allen) Harper of Gallipolis, OH, Helen Owen of Columbus, OH, Roland (Valeria) Singer of Philadelphia, PA, and Sandra (Bill) Alexander of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mott was a longstanding member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES). She was affiliated with a chartered chapter located in Inglewood, California. Until her health failed, she loved living on the west coast and enjoyed the warm climate of California. Mott was a friend to many and was much beloved by her family. Although she had been ill for a long time, it did not break her spirit. She endured with her quiet strength and maintained her dignity to the very end. May she be at peace with the Lord.
