Margie Jean Ramsey was born July 28, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio to William and Ada Belle Mathews. Her father was a stone mason, while her mother was a homemaker to their four children: Faye, Theodore, Margie and Dorethea. In 1956, Margie met and married Walter Ramsey of Augusta, Georgia. They remained in Columbus, Ohio raising nine children until his death in 1971. Margie was a long-time employee of Swan Cleaners and was honored for her exemplary service in 1988. She was an active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church until she moved to Dayton, Ohio due to health related issues. She was a scholar, teacher, caretaker and adviser to the many who knew and loved her. Margie bestowed words of wisdom and a helping hand to almost everyone that she encountered. On Sunday, August 5, 2012, Margie was called from labor to reward while in the care of Regency Manor located in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her parents and her late husband, Margie was preceded in death by a son Lamont, two daughters, Brenda Kirk and Katherine Ramsey, brother Theodore sister Faye (Elenore), grandson Steven (son of Kathy), and two great grandchildren, Mynia (daughter of Eula) and Dexter (son of Brittany). Boyd; niece Bobby Jean; nephew William; 30 grandchildren including her beloved caretaker, Ada Belle Ramsey; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones whom were all very near and dear to her.
