Margie King

Margie King was born January 3, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio, where she spent her formative years and attended South High School. She was worked at The Ohio State University Medical Center before taking a job at Buckeye Steel Castings, where after 15 years of faithful service, she became the first female employee to retire from the plant. Margie enjoyed decorating and gardening, in her spare time, and she loved taking cruises as well. On December 22, 2017, just days before her 93rd birthday, Margie passed away while at home with her family. She was preceded in death by her son Stanley L. King, parents, William and Mahalie King, one sister, and two brothers. Those who remain to cherish memory of Margie include her beloved niece whom she raised as a daughter from an early age, Patrice M. Cooper; sisters, Ruth A. Jones and Barbara J. Allen; brother Kerell “Bud” L. King; sister-in-law Mable V. King; and host of other loving relatives and friends.
