Margie Mae Welch was born January 25, 1929 to Lessie B. Reddick Hartville and Andrew Hartville in Dyersburg, Tennessee. At the age of twelve, Margie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder Bralock. She attended Bruce High School in Dyersburg. In 1949, Margie married Walter Welch. They moved from Dyersburg to Gary, Indiana, and later to Toledo, Ohio. While in Toledo, Margie reunited with the Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop C. E. Thomas of Thomas Temple Church of God In Christ. There, she became a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and was eventually called to become a Missionary and Church Mother. Years later, her husband's career would again cause them to relocate. Upon moving to Columbus, Ohio, Margie joined Independent Missionary Church of God In Christ, where she continued to faithfully serve until she became ill in November 2009. Margie retired from Grant Medical Center in 1994. Margie was called to eternal rest on Monday, October 29, 2012 at The Ohio State University East Hospital. Margie's husband and parents preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Allie Hartville-Richardson of Denver, Colorado; son Alvin Welch of Columbus, Ohio; sister Mary Louise Oliver of Indianapolis, Indiana; niece Mary Helen Green of Columbus, Ohio; nephews Hubert Hartville of Hammon, Indiana and Herbert Hartville of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of great nieces and -nephews, other relatives and friends. Margie gave love and received love. She will be missed.
