Margretta M. Tyler was born June 29, 1923 in Stanaford, West Virginia. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Summit’s Trace Healthcare Center in Columbus, Ohio. She accepted Christ at an early age and, after moving to Columbus, Ohio, became a devoted member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary Board, and sang in the choir. Margretta was employed as a food service worker at The Ohio State University where she retired in 1990. She loved college football and was a loyal fan of “The Buckeyes.” She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Tyler, son Robert Frank Tyler, daughter Ester Ambler, son-in-law Charles Ambler, brothers, Wendell Burruss, John Lowe Tyler, and Ezrafield Tyler, sister Nellie Tyler, and infant twin sisters Mary and Martha Tyler. She leaves to cherish her memory, granddaughters, Benitta Gayle (Gene W.) Grooms, Kisca (Tim) Sturkie, and Toya (James) Johnson, all of Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves behind five great grandchildren, Dijon, Troy, Jona, Timothy, and Tayelor; special niece Linda (Tim) Braxton-Carter; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
