Martin Dismukes Medlin, age 49, entered this world on August 31, 1963. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Hearltand-Victorian Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Martin attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from the North Adult Education Center. Over the years, Martin enjoyed making things in wood shop, going fishing, and playing sports. He was an avid fan of the NFL's Cleveland Browns team, and spent many occasions creating wonderful, lasting memories with his loved ones and friends. From 2003 to 2010, Martin worked in the housekeeping department employee of The Ohio State University Medical Center. Martin loved and appreciated those who loved and cared for him during his lifetime. He often expressed this feeling to his mother telling her, Mom, you've always been a mother and father and I thank you. He was a friendly, kindhearted individual with a sense of humor. When Martin would introduce himself, he was known to tell women my name is MM (like the candy)....melts in you mouth, not in your hand. Martin was preceded in death by his grandmother Mamie Dismukes and nephew Eric S. Osler, Jr. He is survived by mother Lillie M. Medlin; son “Little Martin”; sisters Annette Medlin and Surlista Medlin; brother James Medlin; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives from Columbus, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nashville, Tennessee.
